B · Private-Label Production

Fixed production pricing

We quote setup and per-piece production costs before you commit. You set the retail price and keep the difference between that price and your costs.

As a starting point, a high-quality reproduction may be priced at roughly ¼–⅓ of a comparable original. Your market, edition size, print size, and framing may call for a different price.

Frequently asked
questions.

01

Does Impaxto need my original artwork?

Not always. The original provides the best reference for color, fine detail, and surface texture. High-quality images and directional-light photographs may also be sufficient, depending on the artwork.

02

What image resolution is required for the best results?

We recommend approximately 250 pixels per inch at the intended print size. A 16 × 20 inch print, for example, should ideally start from an image of at least 4,000 × 5,000 pixels. TIFF or PNG is preferable to a heavily compressed JPEG.

03

Who owns the copyright to my artwork?

You retain the copyright to your original artwork. Working with Impaxto does not transfer ownership of your artwork or copyright to us. Reproduction and sales rights are governed by the specific permission or agreement you provide.

04

Is working with Impaxto exclusive?

No. Our relationship is non-exclusive. You retain your rights to your artwork and remain free to sell your originals and reproductions through your own channels or other partners.

05

Who sets the price of my reproductions?

Impaxto establishes a base price based on factors such as size, substrate, framing, and production requirements. Artists can adjust the final retail price using a pricing multiplier to reflect the value, edition size, and positioning of their work.

06

Can I stop selling a reproduction?

Yes. Artists can pause sales of a work at any time. Once paused, no new orders will be accepted. For limited editions, the originally established edition size remains unchanged.

07

What types of artwork are best suited for textured reproduction?

We accept oil and acrylic paintings from the artist who created them. Oil and acrylic paintings can be reproduced, including works with visible brushwork or impasto. We assess mixed-media works individually because materials and surfaces vary.

08

What materials can my artwork be printed on?

We print directly onto linen canvas. Rolled Canvas is unstretched; Stretched Canvas is fitted over wooden stretcher bars without a decorative outer frame; Framed Canvas adds that outer frame. Varnish is optional.

09

How accurately can Impaxto reproduce the original colors?

Our color-managed workflow is designed to closely match the original. Substrate, varnish, lighting, and pigments affect perceived color, so we evaluate the physical proof against the original or an appropriate reference whenever possible. You approve the proof before production.

10

What is UV relief printing?

UV relief printing builds physical depth through multiple layers of ink that cure immediately. We use a custom height map to guide the texture, then reproduce the artwork’s color over the relief.

11

How should I structure and distinguish a limited edition?

You choose the edition size. Numbering, signatures, certificates, and a print size different from the original can help collectors distinguish the edition from the unique painting. We agree on the edition details before listing or production.

12

How much does a textured reproduction cost?

For Sell Through Impaxto, there is no upfront production or selling cost to the artist; you receive 35% of each sale. For Private-Label Production, setup and per-piece costs depend on size, texture, material, framing, and quantity, and are quoted before work begins.
